CAL,
That was the point of the post. Let the pictures tell he story. That and I currently have writers block and a huge Catalog of Mount Vernon Pictures I took while taking pictures for Bolton Hill, Penn Station, and the Charles St. Trolley it would be a shame for them to go to waste.

A beautiful area and fun places to hang out.
I hope any future developments will preserve the historic character of these buildings!

A bit late with the comment, but I just wanted to say thanks for that. Mt Vernon is truly one of America's most stately neighborhoods, and ranks up there with Beacon Hill in Boston, Nob Hill in San Fran, etc...And yet, as with so many other good things about Baltimore, it seems to get drowned out by the crime, the corruption, and all the other byproducts of our struggling economy. I'm speaking only in terms of national attention. Those of us who live here know why Baltimore is called charm city.
